Saterra Psychological & Counselling Services is currently accepting new referrals.

Due to COVID-19, we had decided to move our office to a virtual care setting to ensure the safety and well being of our clients. We want to ensure a safe and calming space. As such, we decided to remain virtual until all provincial and federal restrictions are permanently lifted. We are offering virtual care through a secure and confidential online video platform or telephone. Please call us for more information at (613) 831-8181. We are happy to answer any questions you may have.

If this will be the first time you have contacted a psychologist or mental health professional, it is completely natural that you may be experiencing a variety of emotions about it. For example, you could be feeling eager to share your concerns, or embarrassed and uneasy. It is important to keep in mind, however, that any feelings of trepidation usually disappear quickly during the first session, or even as soon as after our first phone conversation.

We take great care to ensure a quick turnaround time between your initial contact and first session. We value accessibility and do our best to minimize wait times.

You can self-refer or be referred by your family doctor.

How to make a referral to Saterra Psychological & Counselling Services

The first step is calling Saterra’s general practice line at 613-831-8181, filling out our contact form (Contact us), or contacting one of our associates (About Us) directly to discuss how we can begin to help.

During the initial consultation you can brief the therapist about your needs and we can answer any questions you may have about us or the process. If you are comfortable with the therapist call, you can then book your first session. (Please note that there is no obligation for ongoing therapy.)

We at Saterra will always try to find the best provider to help you with your concerns.

Please check with your extended care insurance provider to determine if you require a letter of referral from a physician to be reimbursed for your sessions. If so, referrals need only state: “I refer ____ for psychological assessment and consultation.”

Referrals from Physicians, Health Professionals, Case Workers, School Staff or other professionals

If you are a physician, health professional, case worker, school staff member, or insurance company, please note that we are currently not accepting faxed referrals at this time. Feel free to contact us at 613-831-8181. You can also use our contact form (Contact Us)

Rest assured that we value the referral and will contact your patient/client within 1-2 business to discuss our services. We will provide you with an update about whether an appointment has been booked unless you prefer otherwise.
