Social Worker

I provide counselling therapy to couples and individuals. I enjoy primarily working with couples, and am currently in the process of working towards certification in the Gottman approach to couples counselling.

Dwight Thompson, MSW, RSW

Social Worker

My approach to relationship counselling rests on…”the conviction that if two people conscientiously put a certain effort in motion, a natural process of growth that has been arrested by the accidents of the client’s life thus far will be released to follow its own self-healing logic. This kind of faith assumes that the effort to pursue the truth of one’s experience (whether as an individual, couple or family) has intrinsic healing value.” (McWilliams, Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, “Psychoanalytic Sensibility, pg. 43.” Guilford Press, 2004)
