I am a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) and have been trained to provide counselling to individuals aged 14 and up. Much of my work is based in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based practices, but I draw on a variety of tools to help people find wellness. Together we will work to decide what skills or support you need to get through life’s challenges.
My role as a psychotherapist is to walk with you through the therapeutic process, to provide non-judgmental support, and to give you tools to work through whatever difficulties you bring to the table. I believe strongly that the most important ingredient for change in therapy is a trusting, collaborative relationship, and will work hard to create one with you. I have particular interests in working with trauma, anxiety and grief, but have experience with a wide range of issues. I am also passionate about supporting members of the LGBTQ+ community and other marginalized groups.
**Please note that for insurance purposes, I can provide insurance receipts as a Psychologist-Supervised Psychotherapist**

Over the course of my career I have worked with a variety of populations and presenting problems. I have worked part-time as a psychotherapist with the Arnprior and District Family Health team for three years, where I support clients with issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and life transitions. I have experience facilitating groups using the Interpersonal Relationship (IR) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) models. I have also run a number of workshops on stress management and improving sleep patterns, but the bulk of my professional career has focused on providing individual counselling to adults and teens. I am passionate and experienced in helping adults and teens navigate mental health difficulties. I also worked extensively with clients experiencing crisis through the Ottawa Distress Center, which improved my ability to handle crisis as well as making me knowledgeable on a variety of community resources within the Ottawa area.
I have training in Prolonged Exposure (PE) for PTSD, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and have attended education seminars on grief and supporting transgender clients through transition.
